ECE graduate student receives Outstanding Engineering Doctoral Graduate Student Award

Recently, a student in the Department of Electrical Engineering at Texas A&M University was co-recipient of the 2013-2014 Outstanding Engineering Doctoral Graduate Student Award. This award was created to recognize exceptional achievement and overall performance as a graduate student.
Suming Lai, a graduate student under the advisement of Dr. Peng Li in the Computer Engineering and Systems Group, received the award during a ceremony late September.
Recipients of these awards are graduate students who have demonstrated excellence above and beyond usual levels of achievement for their field. Awardees receive a commemorative token as well as a monetary award of $5,000 awarded as a one-time scholarship. Nominations were evaluated based on scholastic achievement, demonstrated leadership and character.
Other honors for Lai include receiving Best Paper Award at the 2012 International Conference on Computer-Aided Design (ICCAD).
