Abstract: This talk will introduce the NSF GENI (Global Environment of Network Innovations) experimental framework and infrastructure available to students, teachers and researchers. I will focus on the architecture of GENI edge cloud computing network in the form of compute and storage resources, a mobile 4G LTE edge and a high speed campus network connecting these components. I will showcase the GENI mobile computing resource manager, which is based on the Orbit Management framework (OMF) and provides seamless access to the edge computing resources via the GENI Portal for experimentation, scheduling, data collection and processing. I will also highlight coursework modules and applications developed by GENI in various areas of interest such as SDN, cloud computing and wireless.
Bio: Abhimanyu Gosain is a Network Scientist at Raytheon BBN Technologies. He is the wireless system engineer for the NSF GENI project and co-principal investigator for the NSF Orbit LTE project. His research focus is on applying software defined networking techniques to 4G and 5G networks and developing techniques for deployment and management of large scale wireless testbeds.
Abhimanyu received his M.Sc. degree in Electrical Engineering from Tufts University and is currently pursuing his M.B.A. at Boston University.
