Technology Resources

The CESG has several computing resources available for students, faculty, and authorized users to use for research, projects, and coursework. The primary workhorse is the CESG cluster, often called “dropzone” for historical reasons.

The cluster consists of 9 nodes with 232 execution cores and an aggregate 800GB of RAM. All nodes are running Ubuntu server 14.04. The nodes are available anywhere behind the TAMU firewall at the hostname *.ece.tamu.edu (e.g. blackbird.ece.tamu.edu) for connection via ssh on port 22. A valid, current user account is required. Once logged in you can simply ssh to the other hostnames (e.g. ‘ssh mustang’).
